OUR VISIT TO A Local SCHOOL IN ISLAMABAD

TRIP to local School (name) Organised by Riphah University

On 1st December, 2016 our Islamiat Professor Hafiz Waqas Khan announced in our class that “Next week, University is arranging your trip to local school”. And then he gave us some instructions about the trip:
  • *      Bring something’s that is useful for student.
  • *      Make Groups in your section, each group must have 5 to 6 members.
  • *      Each Group will be assign with a class of 20 to 30 students.
  • *      Each Group will be free to arrange competition, games, or any other activities in their classes.
  • *      That’s all.

So, we made a group of five:
  •            Muhammad Seerat Nawaz (19918)
  • *      Muhammad Saad Hussain (19948)
  • *      Tayyab Hussain (19930)
  • *      Mirza Waqar Baig (19971)
  • *      Syed Daud Wasti (19977)

Then, we decided that brought whatever things that each of us thought useful. So on the morning of trip day, all we have is this:
  • *      Couples of packs of pencils.
  • *      Packs of Sharpeners and Erasers.
  • *      Bunch of Balloons.
  • *      Colored Pencils boxes.
  • *      Chocolate Boxes.
  • *      Candies bag.
  • *      Halal Cake Packs.
  • *      Some biscuits.
  • *      And hearts full of love.

So when we arrived in the school, we saw a very poorly built building, a bunch of classes, a lots of students and some teachers (of course). Seeing the school and students was the favorite part of our time. On our school visit we were able to see a real school day in progress. Then all of us gathered in the playground of school. First, principal of school gave a short introduction on school and students. Then our professor assign each group a separate class.

So, we entered in the grade 2 class and the students were studying mathematics, when their teacher saw us, she left the class without saying a word (WTF???). Seeing the eyes and smiles of students gave us so much joy, like the students were hungry of learning something new, something different or something god damn another world thing(!!!).  So first of all, we introduced ourselves and told them about our university and that field trip. Then we asked the students to introduce themselves individually.
After introductions, activities were started by Tikawat-E-Quran and it was recited by Mr. Dolat Khan (a student of class). Then we asked them to show what hidden talents they got, couple of students recited hadees sharif with Urdu translation. Some of them sang poems and national songs and we gave them rewards with respect to their performance.

After this, we arranged some competitions, first we gave them some simple mathematics problems on black board and asked them to solve them and also told them, the first student who solve the problems earn the reward. Then we gave them the blank papers and asked them to draw the drawing of anything and the rewards of colored pencils boxes were won by Soraj Bibi, Habib Khan and Saad Kayani.

After some competitions, we created the setup for games in the class, the first game was Bismila game, and the Rabiya Riaz won the game. On that day weather was also great, one of us got the idea of race between students of class, so with discipline we take the all students to the playground and arrange the running race between them due to cheating of some students we had to do it several time, at the end Mr. Jihad khan won the race.

Then we all came back to class and our professor also came and said to us, “We are leaving in 20 minutes”. Then we decided to equally distribute all the candies, balloons, pencils, Sharpeners, Erasers, cakes packs, chocolate and biscuits to every student of the class. After this in these very last moments we takes pictures (some selfies also) and also group photo with students and asked them about what they want to do in future, and also gave them some advises about studies and life.
Then we went back to our buses and discuss to each other about the trip and request the professor to rearrange, this kind trip any other time.

Everyone learn something from this trip, But we learn from these little students that they are living very hard lives but they never give live a chance to take over there little joyful moment from them. That’s a very inspirational and motivational lesson for us.

That was an unforgettable trip. The feelings and the emotions have still stayed the same in us after this journey.
